Early sunday morning was the first real eye-openning experiance for me. I would have had it up earler, but the cable went out and we lost internet.
You have probable heard about the big wreck that happened on 21st street. I got a first hand account of what happened. I just happened to be the first unsuspecting person to drive by the accident right after it happened. I first glance, I could not believe what was happening so I had to call somebody just to know what to do. I that was seen by me while driving by was a car flipped upside down with a person covered in blood hanging out. This is the first time that I have ever seen anything like this. After seeing this catastrophy, I turned my car around to try to help. It was no use, the poor kid was already dead.
An event like this has changed my whole way of thinking. I am no longer living my life for just me, but trying to do as much as possible to help out andybody in need. This place is not what is done on our own, but through the unity of all, strength is found.
Seeing this young man laying their, knowing that nothing could be done for him was heartbreaking. Think of his parents that are out there that no longer have a son to love and hold. All of the friends that can’t hang out and watch movies with him. Every dicision that we make, may it be big or small, could be the very last thing that we ever do in our time here on earth so we should try to make the most of it.
I have made some poor dicisions in my life, throughout all of this, I am trying to be the best person that I may be and live up to the standards of god. He is the only way, the way I want to live.
That’s scary. I sometimes takes experiences like these to jolt us out of our repetitive and monotonous living style. I could probably use one of those right now, too.
That’s quite the experience… I can’t imagine seeing something like that but then not being able to DO anything to help because it’s already too late… that would keep me awake at nights trying to imagine what I could have done differently. You’ll have to tell more on Wed night.
