Spur one another on

Isaiah 15-18, Hebrews 10

Hebrews 10:24-25

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

I really like this language of “spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” I don’t think we do enough spurring. That would be like a rider and a horse, right? A gentle nudge in a direction, perhaps a little painful poke, but in the end we’re all galloping towards the goal.
